   The white beech mushroom, also known as Hypsizygus tessellatus or Alba Clamshell, is a white UV-induced mutant of the brown beech mushroom, Bunapi-shimeji. Both are commercial variations of the edible Hypsizygus tessellatus mushroom, which is native to East Asia and is often found growing on beech trees.
